Catering with TLC
By AMY CULBERTSON - February 6, 2008
Fort Worth's Tim Love -- chef/owner of Lonesome Dove, Duce and the Love Shack -- is never quiet for long. Now he's jumping into the event biz with Tim
Love Catering. Catering manager Julia Tighe says TLC can handle events from a special dinner for two all the way up to fundraisers for hundreds and will go anywhere in Texas to do it. Menu items can range
from Love Shack burgers to the lamb "lollipops" Love served at a Sunday Super Bowl party, to Lonesome Dove's signature garlic-stuffed tenderloin. She notes that TLC can provide rentals, flowers, music, parking valets and security as well as wine and a signature cocktail for the party.
For bookings and info, call Tighe at 817-624-9712.

Burger Upset in Miami - February 22, 2008
Guest Blogger Allen Salkin files this update on the South Beach Burger Bash:

The winner is the Schlow Burger from Michael Schlow’s Radius restaurant in Boston: a burger topped with cheddar, crispy onions and black pepper horseradish sauce. In my opinion, the best burger was the Dirty Love Burger from Love Shack in Fort Worth, Texas, topped with wild boar bacon and sunny side up quail eggs, but I didn’t vote.

The Burger Joint was my second favorite. Shake Shack was fine, but there was a blandness to their surprisingly fatty tasting patties. Perhaps Eater’s Ben Leventhal had it right when he said while standing near the exit of the tent, “Shake Shack didn’t come to play tonight.”

2008 Southbeach Food & Wine Festival - February 25, 2008
Vegetarians need not have attended this year's "Burger Bash" where guests dined on
17 unique renditions. Though Radius of Boston officially beat out the competition,
other noteworthy competitors included chef Laurent Tourondel (BLT) as well as
Chef Tim Love (Love Shack), who served up a flavorful patty topped with
homemade pickles, bacon and the chef's signature "love" sauce.
